He grew up on a council estate, but now fitness guru Joe Wicks has joined the elite Chipping Norton country estate after buying a £2.9million flashy Cotswolds home.
The four-bedroom home is the latest addition to a booming property empire the star has built since leaping to fame with her online maintenance practice during the lockdown.
The 37-year-old has a beach house in Santa Monica, Los Angeles and a £4million family home in a star-studded area of Virginia Water in Surrey.
Their new estate – set in two acres of gardens and wildflower meadows, where the River Swere flows through the grounds – is in a similar celebrity enclave. The Soho farmhouse is just a short drive away and its neighbors now include the Beckhams, Jeremy Clarkson, Amanda Holden and Claudia Winkleman.
Appropriately enough, the home has a fully equipped, air-conditioned gym – complete with wooden gymnastic rings – as well as a home office, spa room, boot room and snug, as well as a kitchen with the obligatory aga. There is also a two bedroom guest cottage on the grounds.
Wicks and his wife, Rosie, 32, also have permission for a double-height extension to include an open-plan kitchen, with glass doors leading directly to the garden. And there are plans for a gravel courtyard with parking.
The home is done in trendy, muted Soho House style, with neutral tones and elegant modern fixtures.
The father of three children was raised by his father, Gary, who worked as a roofer, and mother, Raquella, a social worker. He first found fame posting 15-second recipe videos online before becoming a social media superstar with his record-breaking PE With Joe video on YouTube.
He was made MBE in 2020.
